# Save/Import Backup File

### **Saving Your Backup File Manually**

1. Go to the [**Utilities**](https://help.yulelog.com/hallmark/yulelog-for-department-56/utilities) menu.
2. Click the button that says **Save Backup Files**
3. A file called **backup.fmp12** will be saved to your YuleLog folder. It is recommended that you frequently make a copy of this file and put it somewhere safe, like a USB Flash Drive or a Cloud service like [**Google Drive**](https://www.google.com/drive/)**.**

### **Automatic Backup Feature**

YuleLog will prompt you to save a copy of your backup file when closing the program. A window will pop up asking if you want to save a copy of your backup file. It is recommended that you frequently make a copy of this file and put it somewhere safe, like a USB Flash Drive or a Cloud service like [**Google Drive**](https://www.google.com/drive/)**.**

### Importing Backup File

The YuleLog backup file is called **backup.fmp12**. In order to import your backup file into your program, follow these steps:

1. Go to the [**Utilities**](https://help.yulelog.com/hallmark/yulelog-for-department-56/utilities) menu
2. Click the **Restore from Backup Files** button
3. Drag your **backup.fmp12** file to the container box (see screenshot below)
4. After you have dragged the file to the container, click the **Import Backup File** button
