In order to transfer your collection to YuleLog for Web from the older FileMaker version of the application (YuleLog Legacy), contact me at [email protected]. Include your backup file (backup.fmp12) as an email attachment.
I will provide a one-time data migration service to set your collection up in YuleLog for Web. You will need to have an active subscription for YuleLog for Web.
YuleLog Legacy refers to the FileMaker version of YuleLog that has been produced and distributed since 1996. Note that it will continue to be developed and distributed, but your data is NOT synced between YuleLog Legacy and YuleLog for Web.
Once you migrate from YuleLog Legacy to YuleLog for Web, you should keep your collection only in YuleLog for Web
Both versions allow you to view and search for items in your collection, but the web and mobile versions also have their own specific features.
If you subscribed to YuleLog for Web, you automatically have access to both the web and mobile versions of the software.
The web browser version allows you to generate more detailed reports. If you want to generate a report and print it, you might want to use the web browser version of YuleLog. For some users, it might also be faster to add ornaments on the web browser, as it is more similar to the legacy version of YuleLog.
The mobile version allows you to search for items in the price guide via barcode by using your mobile device's camera. You can also easily take photos of the items in your collections and save them to your database.

Yes. You will need an internet connection to access your collection. The program does not work when offline, so if you are not connected to the internet on your computer or on your mobile device, you will be unable to access your collection.
There are a few different reasons to consider when creating a pricing model for a subscription service.
Storing data on the cloud is also costly, and many YuleLoggers have thousands of ornaments in their collections. Indexing and storing all of these ever-changing items is expensive, as well as behind the scenes work to maintain these systems.
I have done my best to minimize cost, but the fact remains that cloud services have costs that standalone programs installed via digital download or DVD do not.
For the Hallmark version of YuleLog for Web, an annual subscription adds up to $3.33 /month.
YuleLog Legacy refers to the FileMaker version of YuleLog that has been produced and distributed since 1996. Note that it will continue to be developed and distributed, but your data is NOT synced between YuleLog Legacy and YuleLog for Web. We offer a free courtesy one-time migration service to YuleLog for Web.
Yes! YuleLog for Android is now in a closed alpha test. If you would like to participate, please email [email protected] and provide your Google Play email address.
We have about 10,000 barcodes in YuleLog. That is roughly 1/3 of the 15,000+ ornaments Hallmark has produced since 1973. While we have worked hard to gather accurate barcode data, there might be some with typos or with inaccurate codes.
On the iOS app, users are prompted to submit information about ornaments whose barcodes are not available.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Hallmark tended to re-use barcodes. This means some items share barcodes by design (unfortunately). In this case, the YuleLog app will return a search on the barcode with the matching items, and the user can select the one they are scanning.
